APPLICATION INFORMATION

Please note: Applicants should only proceed with the application after they have received the Foundation's confirmation that their initial submission of the grant request is eligible for consideration. (See also the Foundation's grant application guidelines and FAQ's.

Applications and all supporting materials must be submitted in English, which could include translations of original documents.

Applicants may complete and submit the application form online, sending by mail or fax such supplementary documentation that cannot be transmitted electronically; or applicants may print out the application and submit all materials in hard copy. One document that must be mailed in its original form is the letter by the local ordinary in whose jurisdiction the project is located (See below). However, in some cases, the Foundation may ask the applicants for originals of other documents even if these have already been transmitted electronically or via fax.

As part of the application process, and as the application form spells out, applicants must be able to provide the following key items and information:

  • The written approval of the local diocesan ordinary, with his raised imprint seal affixed This letter must specify that the ordinary has reviewed and approved the specific project. It must bear the original signature. Therefore, the original letter must be sent to the Foundation by regular mail. A copy of the letter may be sent via email or fax ahead of time. In all cases, if available please include the grant reference number assigned by the Foundation's office (e.g. 10A100, 10B001, etc.).
  • A short description of the economic and geographic conditions of the area, and a map showing the location of the project
  • For a construction or renovation project, a blueprint and professional cost estimate, prepared by a local contractor, as well as photographs of the project in its current state, as applicable.
  • For the purchase of equipment or a vehicle, a pro forma statement quoting the cost of the vehicle or equipment, prepared by a local dealership and listing the tax costs separately from the base price of the requested item
  • For a matching grant, information on where the match will be sought and how it will be obtained, backed up by pertinent documentation, such as letters of intent, cancelled checks, bank statements, etc.
